You Capture - Black & White

PhotobucketI don't know about you, but I love black and white photography! The more dramatic, the better!

I wasn't sure what to shoot for this. I even debated just taking some old stuff and turning the to black and white. I decided against that because (really) what's the purpose in doing these challenges if all I'm going to do is use the same old photos over and over again?

So, I grabbed my camera and started walking down the street to see what I could find.

This tree has stood out to me since we moved into this house four years ago. It's right outside and across the street from my dinning room and my living room windows. In turn, I look at it a lot. The sun sets behind it and it looks gorgeous. Also, when the sky lights up with lightning, it looks incredible! I've been wanting to catch these on "film" for years (so don't be surprised it you see this tree again).
Then I walked a little further to my neighbor's house. They have a gorgeous old Victorian that I would love to take tons of photos of someday. Here is their brick retaining wall out front - makes a great black and white!
I went back home, looking for something chrome that would shine in today's very bright (and hot) sun. I found my daughter's "chopper bike" leaning up against the garage.

PhotobucketMake sure to join me for my Perceptive Perspective next week when the theme is "Express Yourself".

Such neat shots...such neat perspectives. And I better make a note of our next theme. Hmmm...what will I do.

Such simple things become so gorgeous when they're photographed in black and white. Wonderful shots. Thanks for coming by and visiting my You Capture shots!

I never seem to have my camera when I see a scene like a tree with a storm behind it, but I know exactly what you're talking @, and it's gorgeous!

LOVE the tree! I would grab a blanket, book & some lemonade or tea (hot or cold depending on the weather) and curl up under it. It just "looks" like that kind of comforting tree. Fantastic job!

Thanks for stopping at my blog, hope you come back again soon!

Great photos! I particularly love the brick wall. The texture looks very cool in B&W. I had the same issue, that I didn't know what to photograph. But with the theme being wide open, once I opened my mind, it was much easier.
