What the heck is a favicon?

Last week in my New Design post, I mentioned a "favicon". You may have been wondering what that is. Well, here's mine... only bigger. 

Do you see this icon in your tab right before my blog name? It replaces the same old blogger icon... 

... you can make it anything you want! Just design something simple that is recognizable as your blog. Remember that it will end up pretty small, so don't get too fancy.

After you get it designed, upload it to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket. Copy the exact image url and put it into this code generator.

Now is where is gets a little tricky, but you can do it!

Copy the code from the code generator. Go to your Blogger dashboard and click on Design, then click Edit HTML. Find the head tag starting with this tag: < head > and ending with < / head > and paste your generated code right above the < / head >.

You did it! Simple as that!
