Perceptive Perspective - Charity

PhotobucketWell, this may not look like the typical "charity" shot... but to me, this is total charity! Over the weekend, the area got about 20 inches of snow. There are still roads that have not been plowed, sidewalks that have not been shoveled, and cars yet to be unburied.

Let me start at the beginning... It all started Friday and was supposed to be done mid-day Saturday. I was throwing my husband, Darren, a surprise birthday party Saturday night. The snow did not stop and the wind picked up. It was officially a blizzard of epic proportions! Needless to say, the party had to be cancelled. Darren couldn't even get home from work Saturday night.

The morning after the clouds parted and we were actually able to see more than 50 feet, I woke up to this...

Not only are you looking at a lot of snow, but a lot of shoveled snow! My wonderful neighbor (knowing that Darren was still not home and I could not physically handle even a quarter of this snow) came over and rescued me. OK, I really didn't have to go anywhere - nor could I even get out of my driveway until that evening. But... there was a snow drift in front of my door that was easily three feet high. I wouldn't have even been able to let the dog out to go to the bathroom!

This is the kind of charity that people can learn from and do more of! Simple acts of kindness go a long way!

That is some crazy deep snow. Hope it doesn't all melt at the same time. Great photo and I will have to check out your photo challenge some more.
